Mattress cleaning services across
the Northern Rivers and the Tweed
Mattress cleaning services booked for the morning, dry in time for bed
You wash the sheets every week. The mattress, never. Ours is a mattress cleaning service done in your home with as little moisture as the job needs, so the bed is ready the same evening. Easy to book, fast quoting, cost effective.
Book a mattress cleanA professional mattress cleaning service is the deep cleaning of the mattress itself, not the bedding. It is done in your home with a hand-held extraction tool that puts a controlled amount of solution into the surface and draws it straight back out, so the top layers are cleaned without the mattress being soaked. TLB Cleaning cleans mattresses across the Northern Rivers and the Tweed.
It is worth doing because a mattress is the one soft thing in a house that never gets washed. Sheets go through the machine weekly, a mattress protector occasionally, and the mattress underneath absorbs sweat, body oil and skin for eight hours a night for years. Nothing about that is an emergency. It is just a job that quietly never gets done.
People arrive here with three questions.
Which one is yours?
-

It has never been cleaned and I have done the maths
Most mattresses have never been touched since the day they arrived. If yours is five or ten years old and still has years left in it, this is the job that makes it feel looked after rather than tolerated.
Book a mattress clean -

Something happened and it soaked in
A wet bed, a sick child, a spilled drink. Fresh is far better than dry, so ring us sooner rather than after it has set. We will be straight with you about how deep it has gone.

I want to know who is in my home
You can meet the team looking after your place before the first visit. They live in your area, insured and police-checked, how we get in is agreed when you book, and you get a message when we are on the way.
Why TLB
What a mattress clean does not do
A clean is not a repair and it is not a rescue. A mattress that has collapsed in the middle, lost its support or been soaked right through is at the end of its life, and cleaning it will not change that. If that is what we find, we will say so and you can put the money towards the replacement instead.
Why less water is the whole job
The thing that decides whether a mattress clean goes well is moisture, and it works the opposite way to how people expect. More water does not mean a better clean. A mattress is thick, dense and completely enclosed, and unlike a carpet you cannot lift it, get air underneath it and dry it out. Whatever soaks past the top few centimetres stays there. That is why a proper mattress clean uses as little liquid as it can get away with, and why anyone offering to shampoo or saturate one is offering you a damp mattress.
The other half is timing. We book mattresses in the morning so there is a whole day of airflow before anyone needs the bed, and we would genuinely rather move the booking than hand back something that is still cool to the touch. If a cleaner cannot tell you how long yours will take to dry, they have not thought about the part of the job that matters most.

How TLB compares
This is a job in your bedroom, on the bed you sleep in. Who does it matters more here than almost anywhere else in the house.

Easy to book, fast quoting, cost effective
Managed for you. A date that suits you, a confirmation in writing, a message when we are on the way, and told first if anything changes.
Book online in a couple of minutes, or send a text, ring us or email, whichever you'd actually do.
Condition drives the price on work like this, so the honest answer is a fast quote rather than an instant one. Tell us what you've got and roughly what state it's in, and we'll come back with a number quickly. Photos are usually enough. If it needs eyes on it, we'll say so rather than guess.
You'll know the price before we start, not after. If the job turns out smaller than you described, we'll tell you rather than hold you to the bigger number. If it needs more time than we quoted, you'll hear that before we begin.
How it works
- Tell us about the job.
- We confirm the price and agree a time and access.
- We do the clean, and you get a message when we're on the way.
- If something needs fixing, you hear it from us first.
Booking a mattress clean
1. Can we sleep in the bed that night?
That is the plan, and it is why we book mattresses in the morning. We use as little moisture as the job allows and get air moving across the surface before we leave. How long it takes depends on the mattress, the airflow and the weather. If it is a humid week we will tell you honestly rather than have you make the bed up over a damp mattress.
2. Do we need to strip the bed first?
It helps a lot if you can. Sheets, protector and pillows off, and somewhere to put them. If you would rather we did it, that is fine, just tell us when you book so we allow the time. We will not put the bedding back on until the surface is properly dry.
3. Will old stains come out?
Some will and some will not, and we will tell you which before we start. Recent spills usually lift well. Old marks that have gone through into the padding and dried there are often permanent, because the mark is no longer on the surface we can reach. Anyone promising a mattress will come back looking new has not seen it yet.
4. How often is it worth doing?
Every year or two suits most beds, and more often for a child’s bed or if someone in the house sweats heavily at night. Between cleans the useful habits are a washable mattress protector, washing it with the sheets, and airing the bed before you make it rather than pulling the covers straight up.
5. What happens if I get in touch?
Tell us how many beds, what size and roughly how old. We will give you a price and book a morning. It can go on the same visit as your regular clean, and most people do the whole house at once rather than one bed at a time.
Mattress cleaning FAQs
1. Does mattress cleaning get rid of dust mites?
We are a cleaning business, not a health service, so we will not make claims about mites or what they do. What a clean actually does is remove dust, hair, skin and surface soil from the mattress and the seams. If mites or allergies are the reason you are asking, that is a question for your GP or a health service rather than for us, and be cautious of any cleaner who answers it confidently.
2. How long does a mattress take to dry?
Several hours for a properly done low moisture clean, and a full day is the safe assumption in humid weather. It depends almost entirely on how much liquid went in, how much air is moving through the room and the humidity that day. A mattress that is still cool to the touch is still wet inside, whatever the surface feels like.
3. Can a mattress be cleaned with a steam cleaner?
It is a poor idea for the same reason saturating one is. Steam puts heat and moisture into a thick enclosed item that cannot be dried from the other side, and moisture that gets down into the foam or springs has no way out. Low moisture methods exist precisely because a mattress cannot be treated like a floor.
4. Is it worth cleaning an old mattress?
It depends on what is left of it. If the mattress still supports you properly and has a few years in it, a clean is an inexpensive way to make it pleasant again. If it sags in the middle, has broken down at the edges or has been soaked through at some point, cleaning it is money spent on something that needs replacing.
5. How much does mattress cleaning cost?
Mattresses are usually priced per mattress by size, so a king costs more than a single, with a lower rate per bed when several are done in the same visit. Heavy staining or a mattress that has to be turned may add to it. That's why we quote rather than publish a flat rate that would be wrong for most homes. Tell us the basics and you'll have a price back quickly, with no obligation attached to it.
