High pressure cleaning services for driveways, paths, patios and pool surrounds

Your driveway is the first thing anyone sees. Concrete, exposed aggregate, pavers, pool surrounds and fences, cleaned at a pressure the surface can actually take rather than the pressure that gets it done fastest. Easy to book, fast quoting, cost effective.

A high pressure cleaning service is the cleaning of outdoor hard surfaces at a home with pressurised water. Driveways, paths, patios, pool surrounds, courtyards, steps, fences and retaining walls. It lifts off the grime, algae, moss and oil that build up on anything left out in the weather. TLB Cleaning does high pressure cleaning for homes across the Northern Rivers, the Tweed and the Southern Gold Coast.

Pressure cleaning, pressure washing and high pressure cleaning all describe the same work. Soft washing is genuinely different: low pressure and a cleaning solution instead of force, for render, paint, cladding, roofs and anything else that force would strip. Most homes need both, and the skill is knowing which surface takes which. If you want the walls and the roof done, that is exterior house washing and roof cleaning, and they are linked further down.

People book this for three reasons.
Which one is yours?

  • A paved path beside a home halfway through being pressure cleaned, weathered grey and green with algae on one side of a straight line and pale and clean on the other

It has gone green and slippery

Algae on a shaded path is the one that matters, because it is genuinely slippery when it rains and it is usually on the way to the front door. One clean fixes it, and we will tell you which marks are staining and which are in the concrete for good.

  • A cleaner pressure washing the paved surround of a backyard swimming pool at a home, the cleaned stone pale and wet, the pool still and reflecting the sky

    We have people coming

Christmas, a party, a birthday, or the photos going up before the house is listed. Paths, patio and pool surround done in a day so the outside matches the inside. Tell us the date and we will work back from it.

  • A cleaner in uniform standing beside her pressure washer on a home driveway, turning to the camera with a friendly expression

I want it to just stay done

Surfaces done once a year never get back to the state that needs rescuing, and each visit costs less because there is less to take off. Same local team, insured, on the same schedule as your regular clean if you want it that way.

    Set up your regular clean

Some of these should never see high pressure

A wand that cleans a concrete driveway will wreck other things around the same house in seconds. Rendered and painted walls strip. Timber decking furs up and splinters, and the grain lifts so it goes grey again faster than before. Pavers lose the sand out of the joints, which is what was holding them still. Roof tiles lose their surface coating. Cladding lets water in behind it, where it keeps causing damage after the machine has gone.

None of that shows in a quote. It shows on your house, and it does not wash off. The right answer for those surfaces is a soft wash: low pressure and a cleaning solution instead of force. We use both, and at the quote we will tell you which of your surfaces gets which.

What our high pressure cleaning services involve, stage by stage

Six stages, in this order. The second and the last are the ones a rushed job skips.

Pressure matched to the surface

Concrete, exposed aggregate, pavers, sandstone, tiles, render and painted steel all take a different setting, and the wrong one leaves a mark that cannot be undone. This is the first thing we work out and it is most of what you are paying for.

We move things and cover things first

Cars off the driveway, furniture and pots off the patio, garden beds along the edge wet down, windows and door seals checked. Ten minutes of setting up is the difference between a clean driveway and a wet laundry.

Pre-treat, then clean

Oil, grease and organic growth get a treatment with dwell time before any water goes near them, and grease needs heat or a degreaser to release at all. Blasting a stain cold just spreads it.

Surface cleaner on the flat, wand on the edges

Open areas are done with a rotary surface cleaner, which cleans evenly and leaves no stripes. Edges, steps, kerbs and corners are finished by hand. Stripes across a driveway are the signature of a job done entirely with a wand.

Soft wash where force would do damage

Render, painted surfaces, cladding, fences and roofs get low pressure and a cleaning solution. It also kills the algae and mould at the root rather than knocking the top off it, which is why a soft washed surface stays clean longer.

Your garden and your pool

Beds get rinsed, and the pool gets covered or the surround is worked away from it.

One driveway, both ways.

What we clean around a house

Around an ordinary house, this is usually the list:

  • Driveways, in concrete, exposed aggregate or pavers
  • Front paths, side paths and the bit nobody looks at behind the shed
  • Patios, courtyards, alfresco areas and outdoor steps
  • Pool surrounds and coping, where algae is a genuine slip risk
  • Fences, gates and retaining walls, at a pressure they can take
  • Carports, garage floors and the oil patch under the car
  • Bin areas, and the smell that comes with them
  • Rendered and painted walls, by soft wash rather than force

If it is fixed to the ground and it is outside, ask us. If it is the walls and the roof you are looking at, those are their own jobs and they are linked below, because doing them in the wrong order means cleaning the driveway twice.

Teagan is a bright spark of a human, who is caring, kind and considerate. She brings these qualities to everything she does, and it's a pleasure to experience such authenticity in my interactions with her. She is meticulous when it comes to cleaning, running her business, and respects the people and property she tends to.

Teagan and her team are just fantastic. I have been getting fortnightly cleans done for almost a year. Great service, professional and very kind. Will be utilising their services for a long time.

  • James Matthews

    Sept 2026

We've got an Airbnb up in the Northern Rivers hinterland, about an hour from home, and finding cleaners we could actually rely on out there was a nightmare. We went through a few before we found Teagan and the TLB team, and honestly we haven't looked back. Teagan works straight off our bookings, restocks everything and sends us a quick update after each clean. We don't have to chase a thing. When you can't just pop over and check on the place, that's worth a lot. Can't recommend them enough.

Easy to book, fast quoting, cost effective

Managed for you. A date that suits you, a confirmation in writing, a message when we are on the way, and told first if anything changes.

Book online in a couple of minutes, or send a text, ring us or email, whichever you'd actually do.

Condition drives the price on work like this, so the honest answer is a fast quote rather than an instant one. Tell us what you've got and roughly what state it's in, and we'll come back with a number quickly. Photos are usually enough. If it needs eyes on it, we'll say so rather than guess.

You'll know the price before we start, not after. If the job turns out smaller than you described, we'll tell you rather than hold you to the bigger number. If it needs more time than we quoted, you'll hear that before we begin.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the job.
  2. We confirm the price and agree a time and access.
  3. We do the clean, and you get a message when we're on the way.
  4. If something needs fixing, you hear it from us first.

Booking a driveway or patio clean

1. Will it damage our concrete or pavers?

Not if the pressure is matched to the surface, which is the first thing we work out. Old, decorative or already crumbling surfaces get flagged before we start rather than after, and pavers get the sand in the joints treated with respect. Render, paint, cladding and roofs get a soft wash instead of force.

2. Can you get the oil stain off our driveway?

Usually a good way, sometimes not completely. Fresh oil responds well to a degreaser with dwell time and the right heat. Oil that has been soaking into porous concrete for years is in the slab, and no amount of pressure pulls it back out. We tell you which one you have before we quote.

3. How long does it take?

A driveway and front path at an average house is usually half a day. Add the patio, the pool surround and the fences and it becomes a full day. Heavily stained surfaces take longer because the time goes into pre-treatment, not into more pressure. You get the estimate with the price.

4. What do you need from us on the day?

Cars off the area being cleaned, furniture and pots moved if you can, the gate unlocked and dogs inside. Everything else, including the machine, comes with us.

5. Can you do it while we are out?

Yes, as long as we can get in and reach a tap. Most people are at work for it. We will send you a message when we are done and let you know anything we found, like a cracked paver or a downpipe discharging onto the path, which is often why an area keeps going green.

High pressure cleaning FAQs

1. How often should a driveway be pressure cleaned?

Once a year suits most homes, and shaded or tree covered areas often want it more like every eight months. The shaded southern side of a house grows algae far faster than the sunny side, so it is normal for one path to need doing twice as often as the driveway. Surfaces kept on a schedule cost less each time.

2. What is the difference between pressure cleaning and soft washing?

Pressure cleaning uses force to remove what is sitting on a hard surface, and suits concrete, pavers, brick and steel. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution, and suits render, paint, cladding, fences and roofs, where force would strip the finish or push water in behind it. Soft washing also treats growth at the root, so it stays clean longer.

3. Can high pressure cleaning damage a timber deck?

Yes, easily. Pressure lifts the soft fibres between the grain, so the boards feel furry, splinter more and weather grey faster than before. A deck wants a gentle wash with the right cleaner and a brush, worked along the grain, not a wand held close. Anyone who quotes a deck at driveway pressure is going to cost you the deck.

4. Where is the water allowed to go?

Clean rinse water off a path can generally go where rain would. Water carrying oil, grease, detergent or paint cannot: in NSW, letting polluting matter enter a stormwater drain is an offence under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, and stormwater runs to the creek untreated. That kind of run-off has to be contained, so ask any cleaner how they handle it before they start.

5. How much does high pressure cleaning cost?

It is usually priced per square metre with a minimum charge for small jobs, and the rate moves with the surface, how badly stained it is, access to water and power, and whether anything needs soft washing instead. That's why we quote rather than publish a flat rate that would be wrong for most homes. Ask for the price against a written scope rather than an hourly rate, so you can see what is included. Tell us the basics and you'll have a price back quickly, with no obligation attached to it.
